St. Peter's Basilica

We start by crossing the Museums made up of halls and courtyards full of sculptures and frescoes; we pass through the Candelabra Gallery, the Tapestry Gallery and the Maps Gallery to find ourselves in the Raphael's Rooms. We then reach the Sistine Chapel. Totally amazed, we are shrouded in this absolute masterpiece – a real Renaissance jewel. Finally we enter St Peter's where we are captured by the magnificence of the architecture and the overflowing richness of the decorations…

The great Basilicas

We begin with St. Paul's Basilica which was built just above the tomb of the Saint. At the time of its construction it was located outside the roman city walls, in the countryside, while now it is a short distance away from the centre. We continue our tour by visiting St. John Lateran Basilica, the most ancient Church in the Western world dating back to the 4th century AD. Finally we go to St. Mary Major Basilica, by far the greatest church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, where some wonderful mosaics with stories of the Old and New Testament can be admired…
